Pinwheels hold a special place in my heart, as they evoke nostalgic memories from my childhood. They make for fantastic snacks and are equally convenient for party platters. Their one-bite size ensures a mess-free experience! Just like many of my other appetizers, this recipe offers endless possibilities for variation. Here's one of my favorites, and I've also provided a list of other exciting combinations you can explore below.
Serving: 8-10 people
Time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 4 large flour tortillas
- 8-10 slices of deli turkey or ham
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese)
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- Fresh spinach or lettuce leaves (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Directions:
- In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard (if using). Mix until smooth and well combined. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
- Lay out one tortilla on a clean surface. Spread about 1-2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Place 2-3 slices of deli turkey evenly over the cream cheese spread, covering the tortilla. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the turkey.
- If desired, place a layer of fresh spinach or lettuce leaves on top of the cheese for added crunch and freshness.
- Starting from one end, tightly roll up the tortilla into a compact log. Press gently as you roll to ensure a snug wrap. Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
- Once rolled, wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Once you are ready to serve, remove the plastic wrap, then use a sharp knife to slice the tortilla log into about 1-inch thick pinwheels.
- Pimento cheese with turkey or ham
- Italian grinder
- Turkey, swiss, bacon, and mayo
- PB&J
- Cream cheese with cinnamon and sugar
