Stuffed Pinwheels

Pinwheels hold a special place in my heart, as they evoke nostalgic memories from my childhood. They make for fantastic snacks and are equally convenient for party platters. Their one-bite size ensures a mess-free experience! Just like many of my other appetizers, this recipe offers endless possibilities for variation. Here's one of my favorites, and I've also provided a list of other exciting combinations you can explore below.

Serving: 8-10 people
Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 8-10 slices of deli turkey or ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your preferred cheese)
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • Fresh spinach or lettuce leaves (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and Dijon mustard (if using). Mix until smooth and well combined. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Lay out one tortilla on a clean surface. Spread about 1-2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the entire tortilla, leaving a small border around the edges.
  3. Place 2-3 slices of deli turkey evenly over the cream cheese spread, covering the tortilla. Sprinkle a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the turkey.
  4. If desired, place a layer of fresh spinach or lettuce leaves on top of the cheese for added crunch and freshness.
  5. Starting from one end, tightly roll up the tortilla into a compact log. Press gently as you roll to ensure a snug wrap. Repeat this process with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
  6. Once rolled, wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Once you are ready to serve, remove the plastic wrap, then use a sharp knife to slice the tortilla log into about 1-inch thick pinwheels.
